Manuel Mora y Araujo served as guest speaker on the subject of his new book ''Bipolar Argentina: swinging public opinion (1983-2011)''. Manuel Mora y Araujo was invited as guest speaker to a Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires to lecture on his new book “Bipolar Argentina: swinging public opinion (1983-2011)”.

In his new book, Mora y Araujo states that the basic symptomps of bipolarity are strong changes in a short period of time and that is the "sickness" of Argentine society, who has enthusiastically supported governments that they later hated; it has projected its insecurities on strong political leaders and, after a while, it chose weak personalities. For the sociologist and political consultant, in this bipolarity, one state of mind follows the other in a circularity: from euphoria to depression, from mania to pesimism.

Manuel Mora y Araujo holds a BA and masters degree in Sociology. He has graduate studies from FLACSO and University of Paris, École Pratique des Hautes Études, 1964, and at International Peace Research Institute, Oslo 1965. He worked and taught in different entities like Fundación Bariloche, Instituto Torcuato Di Tella, Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires and CEMA. Currently he is professor at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Analyst of political and sociological matters, he was one of the first professionals to focus scientifically on public opinion. He founded the consulting company that bares his name that was later absorved by IPSOS. He writes for local and foreign papers. He also published books such as 'El voto peronista', 'Ensayo y error', 'El poder de la conversación', 'Liberalismo y Democracia', 'La Argentina: una víctima de sí misma', among others.
