“Milada” was one of Netflix's earliest original productions. The film received ten nominations at the Czech Lion Awards and was selected as the Czech entry for Best Film at the 2018 European Film Awards.
Opening remarks were delivered by Filip Kanda, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Buenos Aires; Carlos Fara, President of CADAL; and Mariángela Martínez Restrepo of the University of Cinema.
This marks the third consecutive year that CADAL has organised a screening of Milada in Buenos Aires, thanks to the support of the film's director, David Mrnka. Together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, CADAL has also published the book “Milada Horáková: Defender of Human Rights and Victim of Totalitarianism" by historian Ricardo López Göttig.
