Conference on the anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall

CADAL, Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Friedrich A von Hayek Foundation organized this November 9, a ''Conference on the Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall''.

CADAL, Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Friedrich A von Hayek Foundation organized this November 9, a "Conference on the Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall". It took place at Claridge Hotel following this program: Opening, by Gabriel C. Salvia, Chairman and General Director of the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America; Goodbye Lenin, by Ricardo López Göttig, Ph.D. in History (Karlova University of Prague), Researcher of Friedrich A. von Hayek Foundation and Associate Researcher of CADAL; Samizdat and dictatorship, by Fernando J. Ruiz, Professor at the Communications College at Austral University and author of the book "Another Crack in the Wall: Report and testimonies of the new Cuban press"; The Fall of the Wall as an opening for world citizenship, by Fernando A. Iglesias, Journalist and writer, author of the books "What means to be a leftist today?" and "Globalizing Democracy: Towards a World Parliament"; Communist experience and transition to democracy, by Rexhep Meidani, former President of the Republic of Albania (1997-2002) and Laszlo Nagy, Member of the Slovak Parliament and Chairman of the Committee of Human Rights, Minority and the state of Women; and My experiences in both Germanies, by Christoph Korneli, Representative in Argentina of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

The openning of the conference was in charge of the head of CADAL, Gabriel Salvia, and included a video on the fall of the Berlin Wall. "Goodbye Lenin" was the title of the first lecture, in charge of historian Ricardo López Göttig.
Professor Fernando Ruiz gave a speech on "Samizdat and dictatorship". "The fall of the wall as an openning of world citizenship", was the subject analyzed by the writer Fernando A. Iglesias.
Slovak Member of the Parliament Laszlo Nagy referred to "The communist experience and the transition to democracy in Czechoslovakia. Former President of Albania Rexhep Meidani analyzed "The Communist experience and transition to democracy in Albania".
Finally, Christoph Korneli, representative of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Argentina, commented on "My experience in both Germanies". The conference was closed with a cocktail.
