Humanitarian Crisis in Venezuela

CADAL and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized the conference “The Humanitarian Crisis in Venezuela and International Law” in Montevideo. Dennis Fernández, National Assembly member and Member of Parlasur for Venezuela, and Tamara Taraciuk Broner, Senior Investigator for Human Rights Watch Americas attended as panelists. The event was moderated by Inés Pousadela, Senior Researcher at CIVICUS.

Carmen Ramírez, Fundación Konrad Adenauer Uruguay, was in charge of the welcome words and the opening was made by Ruben Alexander Schuster, Director of the Uruguay Program of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Gabriel C. Salvia, General Director of CADAL.

The presentations by Dennis Fernández and Tamara Taraciuk Broner were accompanied by a large amount of data on the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela and included the screening of a video produced by Human Rights Watch.

At the end of the presentations a space for comments and questions from the public and from the moderator Inés Pousadela was opened.
