Alternative futures in Cuba

On Thursday, March 6, CADAL organized in its office in Buenos Aires, a video-conference with Professor Juan J. López on ''Alternative Futures of Cuba''. A reduced group of diplomats and journalists took part in the event. López is consultant in Transitions at Centro de Estudios para una Opción Nacional at Cuban Democratic Directorate. He has a Ph. D. in Political Science from University of Chicago. Among his academic publications are Democracy Delayed: The Case of Castro’s Cuba (Baltimore, MD: The Johns Hopkins University Press, 2002).

On Thursday, March 6, CADAL organized in its office in Buenos Aires, a video-conference with Professor Juan J. López on "Alternative Futures of Cuba". A reduced group of diplomats and journalists took part in the event.

López is consultant in Transitions at Centro de Estudios para una Opción Nacional at Cuban Democratic Directorate. He has a Ph. D. in Political Science from University of Chicago. Among his academic publications are Democracy Delayed: The Case of Castro’s Cuba (Baltimore, MD: The Johns Hopkins University Press, 2002). He is currently a professor at Political Science Department of Florida International University. He taught at Political Science College of University of Illinois at Chicago and at University of Chicago. He was Research Director at the Latin American Studies Center at University of Chicago. He has obtained several awards, donations and schollarships. He was post-doctoral researcher at Chicago Center on Democracy at University of Chicago.
