For the first time, CADAL organized an edition of the Montevideo Latin American Forum in Zonamérica, which included journalist Raúl Ferro, businessman Horacio Reyser and economist Mariana Ferreira as guest speakers. The Forum was dedicated to analyzing the "Business Opportunities in Latin America" and was moderated by journalist Gabriel Rocha, editor of the supplement El Empresario of the daily newspaper El País. The forum was sponsored by the following: the Zonamérica Foundation and the Jacksonville Training Center, daily newspaper El País, My Suits -- a boutique hotel and wine bar -- the Tower Convention Center of Professionals, Business News Americas, fine beer company Mastra, restaurant Basílico, hotel boutique AWA in Punta del Este, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Uruguay.
Raúl Ferro is Director of Business Intelligence for Business News Americas and editor of Intelligence Series and special reports. Previously, he was Journalist Director of the magazine América Economía and also collaborated on various business and finance publications. He is a member of CADAL's Advisory Council.
Horacio Reyser is Vice President and Director of CADAL's Business Counsel. He is an Industrial Engineer and founded an Advanced Administration Program at Harvard Business School. He is an associate of Southern Cross and has been a part of the group since 1998.
Mariana Ferreira is Manager of the Department of Competitive Intelligence for Uruguay XXI. She has a Master's degree in Economics from the Pontificia Católica University in Chile and received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Administration (UDELAR). She is an economics teacher in UDELAR and an economics policy teacher in the Masters program in economics at the same institution. Before working in Uruguay XXI, she was the Manager of the Economic Consulting Department of CPA/Ferrere.
