With the participation of analysts Adolfo Garcé and Horacio Bafico, CADAL organized a new edition of Foro Latinoamericano Montevideo at Centro de Convenciones La Torre de los Profesionales dedicated to offer a political and economic balance of the first year and a half of Mujica's government.
Adolfo Garcé holds a masters degree in Political Science. He is professor of Politica Science at Universidad de la Republica. He is author of several publications the most recent of which are the books: El giro republicano. Bases conceptuales del déficit democrático de América Latina (Ediciones Trilce, 2009) and Donde hubo fuego. El proceso de adaptación a la legalidad y la competencia electoral del MLN-Tupamaros 1985-2004 (Editorial Fin de Siglo, 2006). He is columnist of El Observador newspaper.
Horacio Bafico is economist. Business consultant. Economic columnist of El País newspaper and contributor to The Economist. Between 2004 and 2005 he was representative of Uruguay before the World Bank and before he served as Director of Macroeconomic Consultancy at the Department of Finance.
The forum was moderated by Ricardo López Göttig, analyst and member of CADAL's Academic Council, with the sponsorship of Centro de Convenciones La Torre de los Profesionales and Atlas Economic Research Foundation; in partnership with El País newspaper, Bodegas San Huberto and Boutique Hotel AWA from Punta del Este; and the support of Perspectiva magazine.
