Paraguay in its labyrinth

A Private Meeting was organized at CADAL’s office with the Paraguayan economist José Cantero. Dr. Cantero gave a speech on “Paraguay in its labyrinth”.

A Private Meeting was organized at CADAL’s office with the Paraguayan economist José Cantero. Dr. Cantero gave a speech on “Paraguay in its labyrinth”. Among the audience were diplomats from Austria, Ireland, United Kingdom, Finland, Poland and Canada.

José Cantero is Master on International Finances (Illinois University, Urbana-Chapaign, Illinois). He holds a BS in Economics and a BA in Political Science both at Kansas University. Between 1996 and 2006 Cantero served at Central Bank of Paraguay, where he was Director of the Department of Monetary and Financial Studies (2005-Oct. 2006). In the academic field he was, between 2002 and 2006, in charge of course on Monetary Theory at Universidad Católica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. Currently, José Cantero is Executive Director of Fundación Primero Paraguay. The aim of this foundation is to promote, through research, public policies and decision of private sector, oriented towards sustainable economic growth, with social equity and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
