Bernardo Sorj ( www.bernardosorj.com ), is Uruguayan and director of Centro Edelstein de Investigaciones Sociales. He also serves as professor at Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro. He was visiting professor at several European and American universities, heading, among other positions, the Sérgio Buarque de Holanda chair at Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and the Simón Bolívar chair at Institut des Hautes Études de l'Amerique Latine. He is author of more than a hundred articles and 20 books published in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
