The book «75 años de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos: Miradas desde Cuba» (“75 Years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Views from Cuba”), for which Gabriel C. Salvia compiled texts by the authors Manuel Cuesta Morúa, Julio Antonio Fernández Estrada and independent journalist Reinaldo Escobar, also includes the speech of Guy Pérez de Cisneros at the presentation of the draft of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and illustrations by exiled Cuban artists for each of the Declaration‘s 30 articles.
Mariana Aylwin is President of the Board of Directors of the Gabriela Mistral University, former Minister of Education and Congresswoman in Chile, and Vice President of the Patricio Aylwin Foundation. Camila Rodríguez holds a Licentiate degree in Literature and is the Director of Justicia 11J, she was forced into exile and resides in Mexico. Ricardo Brodsky was Ambassador of Chile in Brussels and Director of the Museum of Memory in Santiago de Chile.
During the meeting, a tribute was paid to Hernán Santa Cruz by his son Rodrigo. Hernán Santa Cruz was a Chilean lawyer and diplomat, and one of the drafters of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
Students, academics, politicians and diplomats attended the book presentation. Among them, H.E. Pavel Bechný, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Chile; and Gutemberg Martínez, former president of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile.
