Political scientist and essayist, sociologist from the UBA and doctor in political science from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has lived in Spain, Brazil and Italy, and is Principal Investigator of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (Conicet), Argentina. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at universities in Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Uruguay. He is dedicated to comparative Latin American politics and recent Argentine political history. He is a member of the Argentine Political Club (president from 2015 to 2019) and of the Argentine Society for Political Analysis. Guggenheim Fellow 2006-2007. His book Sal en las heridas won the LASA Iberoamérica 2009 award as well as the third National Culture Award, in 2011. His book "La alegría y la pasión" won the third National Culture Award in 2019. In 2016 he received the Konex Platino award of Humanities in the discipline Political Sciences, trajectory 2006-2015. As president of the CPA until March 2019, and then as a simple partner, he had and still has an intense participation in Argentine public life, which is expressed through articles in various media, especially in his monthly column in the Clarín newspaper, and in regular discussions. He recently finished an academic-literary text on Argentina in the 60-70s and its contemporary interpretations.
