PLEA 2008 finished

From April 10 and June 26 CADAL organized in its office in Buenos Aires, the 2008 edition of Latin American Academic Extension Program (PLEA) with the participation of ten speakers, among them: Fabián Bosoer (Clarín newspaper), Jorge Elías (La Nación newspaper), Carlos Gervasoni (Universidad Católica Argentina), Fernando Ruiz (Universidad Austral), Raúl Ferro (Business News Americas) and Gonzalo Bustamante Kuschel (Universidad Adolfo Ibañez).

From April 10 and June 26 CADAL organized in its office in Buenos Aires, the 2008 edition of Latin American Academic Extension Program (PLEA). The participants were mainly students of International Relations, Political Science and Journalism from different universities. Following, the program of clases of PLEA 2008:

PLEA 2008 was inaugurated on Thursday, April 10, with a presentation by journalist and political scientist Fabián Bosoer, editorialist of Clarín newspaper who analyzed "The democratic development in face of the second decade of 21st century".

On Thursday, April 17, journalist Raúl Ferro, Contents Development Director of Business News Americas, referred to the subject of "Trade and integration in Latin America".

On Thursday, April 24, professor Fernando Ruiz, from Universidad Austral and Associated Researcher of CADAL, gave a lecture on "Journalism and Democracy in Latin America".

 

On Thursday, May 8, journalist Hernán Alberro, Programs Director of CADAL, analyzed the issue of "Press Freedom and Economic Development in Latin America".

On Thursday, May 15, journalist Gabriel Salvia, CADAL's chairman, presented "Latin America and International Promotion of Human Rights".

On Thursday, May 22, journalist Jorge Elías, editorialist of La Nación newspaper, analyzed "The future of the relationship between United States and Latin America".

On Thursday, May 29, historian Ricardo López Göttig, Director of Political Science College at Universidad de Belgrano and Associated Researcher of CADAL, analyzed "Populism, nationalism and neoliberalism in Latin America".

On Thursday, June 5, political scientist Carlos Gervasoni, professor at Universidad Católica Argentina, gave a presentation on "The situation of political parties in Latin America".

On Thursday, June 19, political scientist Matías Franchini, Associated Researcher of CADAL, referred to "Bolivia: Constitution and Autonomies, two parallel agendas".

Finally, on Thursday, June 26, Chilean philosopher Gonzalo Bustamante Kuschel, professor at the School of Government at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, gave a presentation on "Latin America and the Spirit of Development".
