Agreements Commission of the Senate considered a request from CADAL

In occasion of the nomination of Juliana Marino as new Ambassador in Cuba, the Agreements Commission of the Senate considered some of CADAL's observations.

Juliana Marino In occasion of the nomination of Juliana Marino as new Ambassador in Cuba, the Agreements Commission of the Senate considered some of CADAL's observations. Hernán Alberro, Programs Director of CADAL, assisted to the meeting of the Commission.

 

 

 

Marcelo GuinleDuring the meeting of the Agreements Commission, its Chairman, Senator Marcelo Guinle, read CADAL' request of rejectment of such nomination due to her favourable standing in front of Cuban dictatorship, repeatedly expressed by Juliana Marino in her different positions. 

Because of this request and the inquieries by Senators Guinle, Samuel Cabanchik, Alfredo Martínez and Ramón Saadi, Mrs. Marino expressed in favor of the policy carried out by former Argentina Ambassador in Cuba, Darío Alessandro and assured that she would work on the same line in representation of Argentina in the island.

Subsequently, when treating Marino's nomination in the session of May 14, Senators Liliana Negre de Alonso and Delia Pinchetti de Sierra Morales voted against the nomination, while Senator Cabanchik, representing the block of Coalición Cívica, expressed the abstention of the block.
