CADAL cellebrated its 8º anniversary

Carlos Facal, member of CADAL's Advisory Council; Tristán Rodríguez Loredo, Director of CADAL's Advisory Council; and Horacio Reyser, Director of CADAL's Business Council; among the participants of the toast in honor of the eight anniversary of the organization. The cellebration took place after the Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires on Friday 25th of February, with journalist Fernando Laborda as guest speaker.

At the end of Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires that took place on Friday 25th of February, with journalist Fernando Laborda as guest speaker, there was a toast to cellebrate the eight anniversary of Centro para la Apertura y el Desarrollo de América Latina. The creation of CADAL, in February 2003, took into account the political, institutional and economical crises in Latin America , their regional impact, and the future challenges regarding civic, political and economic liberties. On this regard, CADAL appeared to occupy a space in the region promoting pro-democracy and pro-market policies. The Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL), with its main headquarters in Buenos Aires , Argentina , and an office in Montevideo , Uruguay , is a non-profit, non-partisan, private foundation. CADAL is member of the Network of Democracy Research Institutes ( NDRI ), an Associated Institute of Proyecto Plataforma Democrática, founding member of Red Puente Democrático Latinoamericano and is registered as a Civil Society Organization before the Organization of American States (OAS). The mission of CADAL is to promote: the strengthening of democracy and rule of law; the implementation of public policies fostering economic, social and institutional progress; the regional integration and its opening to world trade; and the international promotion of human rights. CADAL activities are grouped into areas of work: Democratic Governance, Economy and Institutions; International Promotion of Human Rights; and Freedom of Expression.

Among the participants there were several members of foreign diplomacy: Jacek Bazanski, Ambassador of Poland; journalist Fernando Laborda; and Pavel Sipka, Slovak Ambassador.
