PhD in Political Sience (New York University) and MSc in Political Science (Chicago University) and degree in Political Science and Sociology (University of Illinois). Professor of Liberal Studies at the New York University and of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the New York University. In Chile, he is a professor of Political Science at Universidad Diego Portales. He wrote various books and is a specialist in public opinion, party systems and executive-legislative relations in Latin Amercia. He is a collaborator in a number of publications, including El Líbero (Chile) and Americas Quarterly (EEUU).
