Leo Calvo en la OEA

On Monday, 2nd of June, CADAL’s representatives assisted the dialogue with the OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, with the civil society, in which the Cuban democratic activist Leonardo Calvo, of the Citizens Committee for Racial Integration, could table one question that was answered by the former foreign minister of de Chile.

Casually, Gabriel Salvia and Veizant Boloy crossed in the hallway with Insulza and maintained a cordial and informal exchange with the Secretary General on the repression of the Alternative Forum in Havana by the Cuban dictatorship in late January 2014 during the CELAC Summit. On that occasion, all three have been in the capital of Cuba: Insulza as official guest, Boloy, arrested for having confirmed his participation to the Alternative Forum of CADAL, and Salvia being kept from entering the country upon his arrival at the José Martí airport. “He left us in Havana” was the comment respectfully submitted by the OAS Secretary General, who was briefed on the current situation of Manuel Cuesta Morúa, spokesman of Arco Progresista in Cuba and over who hangs an injunction of the Cuban dictatorship for “threatening the international peace” which keeps him from leaving the country.
