Meeting with the German Ambassador

Norma Morandini, Gabriel Salvia and Brian Schapira participated in a meeting with S.E. Dr. Ulrich A. Sante, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Buenos Aires, and the Political and Human Rights Counselor, Philipp Herzog. The meeting was held at the Ambassador``s residence and consisted of an exchange on CADAL``s projects, the electoral process in Germany and the main axes of foreign policy in the European country.

The Vice President, the General Director and the Director of Institutional Relations of CADAL shared with the Ambassador of Germany in Buenos Aires the main initiatives of the foundation dedicated since 2003 to promote human rights and international democratic solidarity, including the history of the organization and agreements with counterparts in his country, such as the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Bertelsmann Foundation.

For his part, S.E. Ulrich A. Sante recounted his diplomatic experiences prior to his arrival in Argentina and provided details on the process of government formation in his country, after the elections last Sunday. He also referred to the priorities on Germany's international agenda and the importance of the universal defense of human rights.

Journalist and writer Norma Morandini, Vice President of CADAL, recalled her meeting in 2007, when she was a National Deputy, with Joachim Gauck, then President of the Federal Republic of Germany between 2012 and 2017, and the exchange visit she made to Berlin and Dresden invited by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
